OUR HISTORY
Expert Drones Africa (EDA) was established in 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya, with a primary focus on ecology and conservation initiatives, specifically aimed at protecting elephants in the Greater Masai Mara region through a partnership with the Mara Elephant Project (MEP). By emphasising monitoring, training, and information management, EDA developed a coordinated strategy with MEP to combat poaching threats and expand surveillance coverage, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of their ranger operations.
Today, we are recognised as leaders in ecological solutions and, through various partnerships and innovative applications, such as cattle counting with the Mara North Conservancy, we are demonstrating the potential of drones to significantly reduce global emissions while preserving biodiversity.
As drone technology continues to evolve, we have embraced diverse applications across multiple industries, particularly in precision agriculture. Our first contracts in this sector began in 2022, highlighting the importance of protecting our planet through more efficient use of water, chemicals, and the reduction of CO2 emissions associated with traditional ground machinery.
Currently, we are exploring new use cases, such as leveraging drone technology to promote sustainable tourism practices. Through our clients, we use our drones to capture the stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife of Kenya for documentaries or tourism sponsorships.
