Expert Drones Africa (EDA) is a partner of Expert Drones USA and has established itself as a service provider of Unmanned Aviation Systems (UAS or drones), in UAS Operations, UAS training, UAS consultancy and supply UAS products across Africa.

The company was founded in 2018 with its head office in Nairobi, Kenya through its East African subsidiary (EDEA) which is certified by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA).

Originally, EDA used drones specifically for conservation and wildlife projects, however, the company has witnessed a revolution in the application of drones in many different industries and for a variety of purposes, such as precision agriculture, GIS, remote sensing, AI analytics, security surveillance, infrastructure inspections and energy monitoring.

Marcus Church

With a background in environmental management and security, Marcus has been at the forefront of developing and implementing innovative solutions to environmental challenges using drone technology. Over the course of his career, Marcus has worked with a diverse range of clients, from government agencies to private corporations, to design and implement drone-based solutions for a wide variety of applications, including environmental monitoring, security surveillance, and emergency response. Marcus has a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape surrounding drone technology and has played an active role in shaping industry standards and best practices. He is recognized as an expert in his field and participates with local stakeholders committees in the drone industry of Kenya

Kevin Rodrigues

Kevin is a private capital investment specialist, bringing 18 years of principal investing across venture capital, growth equity and private equity experience in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
Kevin is an active angel investor and has over nine years of board experience at both profit and non-profit organisations across three continents and four sectors. He has developed a particular expertise in working with businesses and institutional investors to structure solutions that provide value and leverage his experience to achieve objectives. Kevin holds an MBA from the London Business School and a B.A. Economics from Northwestern University, USA.
As a Director for Expert Drones Africa, he provides support to senior management on strategy, finance and new market entry. Kevin is a Kenyan national and licensed private pilot

Marc Goss

Marc Goss is a highly experienced wildlife conservationist with a strong focus on elephant protection in the Greater Maasai Mara. With over a decade of experience in the field, Marc has developed a deep understanding of the complex issues facing wildlife conservation and has worked tirelessly to develop effective strategies to mitigate the threats facing elephants in the region. Marc’s work in the conservation of elephants has been widely recognized and has earned him a reputation as a leading expert in the field. He has played a key role in a number of successful initiatives aimed at reducing poaching and protecting elephant populations in the Greater Maasai Mara

EDA was founded in partnership with Brett Velicovich, one of the world’s leading UAS experts. Brett visited Kenya as part of his African Eye project, which uses UAS technology to save and protect African wildlife. And -during this visit – he, Marcus and Marc formed a relationship that led into the partnership that has become EDA.

Brett brings with him a wealth of knowledge in the use of UASs for humanitarian purposes as well as expertise in conflict regions worldwide. Previously serving with the U.S. military, his international experience includes work in the Middle East and Africa – including Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Mauritania, and Burkina Faso. After leaving the military service in 2010, Brett earned a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and participated in international residencies in China, India, Russia, UK, and the UAE. Since then, Brett has worked to promote UAS technology for efforts focused on humanitarian aid and using drones for good. Brett’s Book is available from Amazon here.
